Aerostar S.A. - Company Mission
The initial mission established in 1953 at the foundation of the economic enterprise "Aircraft Repair Enterprise" or U.R.A. - the forerunner of S.C. Aerostar S.A. is:
Art.1 - Having in view the supply, repair, production of spare parts and aggregates for aircraft and aeroengines, production of aircraft instruments, as well as for production of special aviation tools, needed by the Armed Forces of the People's Republic of Romania, it is hereby established starting with January 1st, 1953, under the direction and control of the Ministry of Armed Forces, the Economical Enterprise "Uzina de Reparatii Avioane" ("Aircraft Repair Enterprise") with the headquarters in the village Vasile Roaita, Bacau district.
Art.2 - The enterprise mentioned in Art.1 is organized as ecomonical enterprise of rank I, and will be administrated on the principle of non-financing by the state, and the management personnel will be immediately appointed.
The mission established initially is still valid, but in the new conditions generated by the adherence of Romania to NATO and the EU, this needs to be adapted and completed to ensure the business development needs of Aerostar S.A.
Our present mission is:
- The preservation of our status as first rank supplier of Romanian Ministry of National Defence in the fields of aviation and ground artillery systems. In this way we will act as House for integration, manufacturing, upgrade and maintenance.
Our target is to preserve this status for the new weapons systems which will be introduced in service with the Romanian army (multirole aircraft, regional transport aircraft, surface-to-surface missiles system and ground artillery systems, IFF systems and equipments). We intend that in 2010 to achieve 30% of the turnover from this domain of activities.
- The development of S.C. Aerostar S.A. as subcontractor of parts, aerostructures, sub-assemblies and equipment for general and civil aviation, in order to become a major subcontractor for the global aviation industry and to achieve from these activities 30% of the turnover for the year 2010.
- The development of the activities of S.C. Aerostar S.A. for obtaining the status of prime supplier of maintenance for civil aircraft and for conversion/upgrade activities for civil aircraft, to represent 30% of the turnover for the year 2010 and, through this, to become House for maintenance and conversion for civil aircraft.
- The exploitation of the potention on the external market for services/products from the range of present competencies (repair and upgrade of civil and military aircraft) until the completion of the customers' needs.
- The preservation of the position as primary supplier of LPG recipients (consumer, auto, etc.) in the country.
- New acquisitions for the consolidation of the position at national level.
- The continuous modernisation of products, technologies and organization for a maximum exploitation of the company potential and for the improvement of the administration system of all resources.
